KTSG Inaugurates New Governing Council for KSITM to Boost Technical Education

The Katsina State Government has inaugurated a new Governing Council for the State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM), aimed at enhancing technical education and innovation, particularly among the youth.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Monday, 30th September, at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technical Education. The Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Isah Muhammad Musa, who represented the Katsina State Governor, delivered a speech highlighting the council's critical role in advancing education and skills development, especially for rural communities.

In his remarks, the Commissioner announced the appointment of Dr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma as the Chairman of the Governing Council, expressing confidence in his expertise, as well as that of the other council members. He emphasized that the council was established to ensure adherence to effective guidelines and expand opportunities for quality education.

Effective Leadership and Strategic Planning for Educational Advancement

The Commissioner reiterated that the council would operate with integrity, fairness, and a robust framework, helping the institute fulfill its mandate of providing modern education and technical skills to equip the youth for global challenges.

In his address, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Engineer Dr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma, pledged to carry out the council's duties with professionalism and fairness, in line with the laws establishing the institute. He noted that the council is committed to improving teaching and research, with a vision to elevate the institute to a leading educational center within the next two years.

Dr. Darma outlined that the council's first meeting will focus on designing strategies to achieve the set goals, ensuring that the institute becomes a hub for education and innovation in the Katsina region. He emphasized that the state's youth would benefit significantly from this initiative, gaining the skills needed to thrive in the fields of technology and innovation.
